Human Factors and Ergonomics (SIT22008)
2-2. Physical Ergonomics II: Anthropometry, ergonomics at workplace, virtual ergonomics
Here, you will get three different topics today. First, anthropometry is one of the major areas in HF/E. Anthropometry is about measuring body size and shape for its application to user-centered design. You don’t need to understand the concept and methods of anthropometry completely, but need to know the types of data and its application in design.
The second and third topics are related to ‘work’ and ‘occupational health and safety’, which are a very long concern in Ergonomics. The early stage of the Ergonomics mostly cares workers and their works not only for the efficiency of work but also for safe working and healthcare of employees. And still, health and safety are one of the most critical concerns in human life. Keep in mind your posture of using a laptop!
